About this listen
After overwhelming Scotland, the glacier gouged its unstoppable way south. Only a few people remained in the desolate, frozen streets of the cities of Northern England. As the daily blizzards blew stronger and the icebergs on the River Mersey grew larger, Norman and Chrissy Leonard prepared to flee their Liverpool home. When Norman heard - The Roar - he knew the time for preparation had passed. An unspeakable dread twisted inside him at that primordial sound. The glacier was pushing more than just snow and ice ahead of it. A nightmare was coming, one Norman would not be able to wake from.

"An innovative plot by a new author." (Guy N. Smith, author of Night of the Crabs and Killer Crabs: The Return)
“Neil Davies’s Hard Winter put me smack down in the middle of an icy world I, as a reader, never want to leave. His descriptions and atmosphere made me shiver and drink whatever warm beverages I could find, while his character insights and prose left me breathless. This book will make you cringe, cry, laugh and beg for more. What an amazing book.” (Joe Mynhardt, Crystal Lake Publishing)

Really fell apart at the end.
Although the main protagonist's whining self-interest got on my nerves throughout the book, I found the action and plot interesting enough to listen until the end. But, to my dismay, the final chapters were a big let-down, as if the author got bored with his novel and wrapped it up as quickly as possible. So, instead of being a good listen, it is an okay listen. The narrator, however, performs well.
