Here are 16 chilling, never-before-published tales that explore every aspect of our darkest holiday, Halloween, coedited by Ellen Datlow, one of the most successful and respected genre editors, and Lisa Morton, a leading authority on Halloween.
In addition to stories about scheming jack-o'-lanterns, vengeful ghosts, otherworldly changelings, disturbingly realistic haunted attractions, masks that cover terrifying faces, murderous urban legends, parties gone bad, cult Halloween movies, and trick-or-treating in the future, Haunted Nights also offers terrifying and mind-bending explorations of related holidays like All Souls' Day, Día de los Muertos, and Devil's Night.

©2017 Blackstone Audio, Inc. (P)2017 Blackstone Audio, Inc.As to presentation: every one of the narrators cast to read the books turn in outstanding performances, too (that's not often the case). Even varied - often difficult - accents like German, Irish, and Latino are portrayed with authentic skill. Bravo to Blackstone Audio Inc. in casting this project and backing up the selected readers with exemplary technical support.
Altogether, I give 'Haunted Nights: A Horror Writers Association Anthology' 8/10-stars. The PG-13 collection (a couple of F-bombs, no gore) would be a great way to spend October 31 listening with loved ones. I am grateful to Audible for making the book available on the 'Plus' menu.. because it would rate a Credit.
ATTN PRODUCERS: Adding story names + authors to the chapter menu would improve this product significantly. The audiobook should be easier to navigate (if I want to recommend a specific short story, for example. Which one is the Maberry?)
Great Anthology
