About this listen
Farmer Burton owned the farm down the road from the Amish community, and he had very little to do with them since his late wife had been asked to leave their land after chasing an escaped horse from their fields. When in town he would sneer at the Amish if he saw them in their buggies or in the shops getting groceries. He made certain that he and his 20-year-old daughter Amy had nothing to do with them.
It was late Summer and he was spending time by the road fixing his fence when every day a polite young Amish man (Aaron) would walk by and say hello, and even pass the time inquiring as to what he was up to, and even offer to help a little with heavy lifting.
One day as he was painting the fence posts his daughter Amy was bringing some water to drink as Aaron walked by. Aaron paused and talked to Farmer Burton but all the time his gaze was obviously upon Amy and as Amy blushed, Burton noticed and shouted him away with shameful scorn.
That night a raging storm blew and much of the farmers hard work was damaged. Aaron saw the damage and tidied it all up for him despite the protests from Farmer Burton. A moment of magic later occurred that changed everything for the farmer, even when he had to step in during a confrontation that was about to get ugly. Would the gesture be enough o allow love to blossom, or would traditions prevent love from winning the day?
