About this listen

Now updated with a new introduction by number-one New York Times best-selling author Marianne Williamson, the 20th anniversary edition of Healing the Soul of America shares her timeless, visionary message of political healing.

In the 20th anniversary edition of Healing the Soul of America, Marianne Williamson reclaims her powerful voice for social conscience in American society. This is a time, according to Williamson, for Americans to return once again to our first principles, both politically and spiritually. Here, Williamson draws plans to transform the American political consciousness and encourage powerful citizen involvement to heal our society.

With updated material throughout and a new introduction, Williamson explores the current state of American politics, reminding us of her theory of holistic politics - the convergence of political activists looking toward spiritual wisdom and spiritual contemplatives extending their service into the political landscape. She believes that a morally concerned American must now take an active stand in turning this country away from its current identity as a nation obsessively in love with its money to a nation more seriously invested in all of its children and the potential brilliance of every citizen.

"Marianne Williamson is attempting to help not only her followers but an entire nation" (People). In the wake of the current political dysphoria, with countless tragedies consistently on the nightly news, America is facing a time of immense division. Political parties that completely polarize friends and family, mass shootings, threats of nuclear war, and a lack of confidence in our governmental leaders show that the country is in desperate need of restoration. We need a new paradigm of political understanding, a moral commitment to express it, and a new kind of activism to bring it forth. Healing the Soul of America is a blueprint for all three and there has never been a more urgent need.

A work for the Ages and certainly the one that NEEDS to be read over and over.

I’ve just finished reading/ listening to “Healing the Soul of America- 20th Anniversary edition “ by Marianne Williamson.
Oh my! The most enlightening yet depressing work I’ve ever read.
While she’s definitely speaking to Americans with an interest in the new paradigm, the world would benefit from reading, feeling and acting inline with the solutions she practices and proposes.
Each of you will identify with her observations in your own way and in doing so are likely to shed a tear or two. But this is good, great in fact as in itself that tear is the beginning of the healing.

As a Canadian, (with a huge American family) this very inspiring (for me ) towards an American return to liberty and a vision beyond short term (quarterly) gains. But most of all I pray that Americans will actually see, what the world sees and why America is considered the shame of the industrialized world. BUT ALSO REALIZE THAT WORLD AWAITS AND WILL ASSIST IN AMERICA HEALING AND BECOME THE LEADER THAT HER CONSTITUTION INSPIRES HER TO BECOME.
Please read and gift and talk about this book towards making Marianne the elected Healer in Chief in 2020 ,

Prescient and Profound.

It is a great tragedy that Marianne was slandered and mischaracterized so viciously throughout her presidential run. If only more people had done legitimate research, and just read and listened to the things she was actually saying. Mainstream media cannot always be trusted. This woman can be. It is among Williamson's best works, acting as an informative and inspirational primer on politics at every turn. Quite frankly this ought to be mandatory listening for any activist or concerned citizen. Many of her ideas here are relevant to all human beings, and not just Americans. I was brimming with hope and renewed determination by the time it was over. Bravo!
