I really wanted to like this story. It was extremely boring. And the narrator sounded like Carol Burnett …. In character

Great twist! Not fond of the narration.

I am a long time Joy Fielding fan and this is one of my favourite books of hers. I have a copy of the physical book and I’ve read it many times. I’ve enjoyed it each read, but I thought it was about time I bought the audiobook.
Unfortunately, I was really not a fan of the narrator. She read two of the main characters voices in a way that was bordering on caricature and it sort of spoiled the experience. I still finished the book and I love the story itself, but the narrator was a big miss for me.
So much so that I’m rethinking purchasing Mad River Road, which is another favourite JF book of mine, because it’s narrated by the same person.
