Publisher's Summary
Grab your favorite mug and maybe a napkin because I am spilling my favorite Chai tea on my vulnerable “come to Jesus” moments in my police girlfriend life, police wife life, and marriage in this police wife devotional. My officer and I dated for 10 years before getting married and have now been married for nine years with two young boys.
Through Bible verses, my candid real-life police girlfriend and police wife stories, and prayers, you will transform your mindset from resentful, frustrated and/or and lonely to a peaceful police wife with a sense of purpose and love. To keep things light, there is some police wife humor splashed in there, too.
I have been in your heels, girl.
Your husband is working the entire weekend again and you’re alone.
Do you want to stop feeling lonely and instead a sense of love and fulfillment?
His schedule changed yet again and he’s scheduled for nonstop overtime.
Do you want to stop feeling frustrated and a sense of purpose?
Your husband tells you not to go to that Mexican restaurant down the road, because he arrested someone there and you feel that you cannot live without Mexican food.
Do you sit there thinking “guess I’ll miss you then, hubby”?
Okay. That last one is a joke!
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes this devotional different than others out there?
Five main reasons:
- I share raw real stories that I do not see anywhere else. I do not hold much back.
- Known for my police wife humor on Instagram @heelsandholster I integrate comedy throughout this book.
- My husband is a city police officer. He has worked in the city of Los Angeles in gang units and other specialized units for about 16 years. His distinct experiences and traumas as a Los Angeles police officer have shaped who we are a couple.
- I am a Catholic-convert raised by hippies on ranches in Hawaii and Las Vegas. My parents had a metal bat under their bed for home protection. I was raised very differently than my husband.
- As a police wife and mother to young children, I share my experiences juggling demands of my husband’s injury on duty, Covid-19 pandemic, and Black Lives Matter riots.
Is this book for police girlfriends too?
Yes! I include bible verses, stories, and prayers from our early dating years.
I have been married to a law enforcement officer for a while. Is that okay?
Yes. I have written the book chronologically, but I included a Table of Topics, so you can start at a certain topic, such as Trauma, Finance, Faithfulness, or Always on Duty, if you would like.
What police marriage topics are covered?
Always on Duty, Communication, Concealed Carry, Engagement, Faithfulness, Finance, For a Laugh: Bullets Found Where?, Mexican Restaurant, & Toe
