About this listen
What would you do to remember? What would you give to forget?
When Tess Porter agrees to pick up her boyfriend’s college pal at the airport on a snowy December night, she has no idea she’s about to embark on the most dangerous ride of her life. Two days later, the seventeen-year-old wakes up in a hospital with broken bones, unable to remember how she got there. Her parents are acting strange, and neither James, her boyfriend, nor her best friend, Izzy, has visited. As she struggles to physically recover, Tess wrestles with haunting questions: What happened? Will her memory ever return? And what if she’s better off not recalling any of it?

Unexpectedly quite good
I expected to bail on this soon after starting it as I was just looking for something to listen to in between credits, but I thought it was a pretty compelling story!

Juvenile writing style and played down excitement
The story follows the POV of a 16 or 17 yr old girl. And the inner and outer dialogue is really juvenile, whiney, superficial and self centered. Which sounds obvious when you consider real life teens but it's annoying to the listener/reader which impacts the story. The adults are just as non likeable.
The story is a slow burn of teenage drama flashbacks until you get to the main thrilling event. Then it fizzles back down and the book continues for another 2 hours of listening. With so much book left, you think something else like a plot twist will happen but it doesn't. It's just sad and goes on.
I would recommend this book for a teen who may be able to relate to the teenage drama.
A very PG 16 story though it has topics of suicide, murder, depression, adultery and alcohol abuse.

Decent for casual listening
Pretty basic story and plot. Good for driving but no real surprises or unique plot twists

Wow…great book
I really enjoyed this book. It was well written. My first book by Liz Alterman. Will definitely read more books by her. It was brilliantly written . The narration by Anna Caputo I enjoyed very much..It was an unusual story and thrilling,
A bit long winded and too many overhauls and dialogue. However, I used my fast forward button and all was good. I essentially really liked it and would recommend. Thank you Audibles.

Just ok
Definitely a YA book . I finished it but I didn’t enjoy it. It had a few good parts but didn’t get to be that interesting.
