Plenty of court intrigue, light on the romance

This is decidedly the slowest burn romance imaginable. There’s no angst anymore, it’s getting dull.

Good thing that the story has definitely picked up with many interesting characters and plots. There is much more activity in this book which makes it very interesting. It’s overall a better fantasy read as the main character starts to grow some lady balls and come into her own.

The performances are solid and it’s an easy listen.
