Publisher's Summary

How far would you go to protect the ones you love...when they may not be yours to protect?

When Josh’s longtime partner, Grace, dies in a tragic accident, he is left with a mess of grief - and full custody of her seven-year-old son, Logan. While not his biological father, Josh has been a dad to Logan in every way that counts, and with Grace gone, Logan needs him more than ever.

Wanting to do right by Logan, Josh begins the process of becoming his legal guardian - something that seems suddenly urgent, though Grace always brushed it off as an unnecessary formality. But now, as Josh struggles to find the paperwork associated with Logan’s birth, he begins to wonder whether there were more troubling reasons for Grace’s reluctance to make their family official.

As he digs deeper into the past of the woman he loved, Josh soon finds that there are many dark secrets to uncover, and that the truth about where Logan came from is much more sinister than he could have imagined....

Tightly paced and brimming with tension, Her Secret Son is a heartbreakingly honest portrait of a family on the edge of disaster and a father desperate to hold on to the boy who changed his life.

nice twist.....

it was a little slow to listen to. nothing to really grab the ear, especially if you're a bit tired. the story itself was good. the twist at the end was something I haven't come across in all my reading, so that was great.

Slow , Dragged On

Loved Josh's English accent. Hated Grace's voice. An interesting storyline, but very dragged out. Slow read, found myself waiting for chapters to end, hoping the next would move the story along.

stick with it!

overall I really enjoyed this book. I did feel that it was a little bit too detailed at first and it was taking a long time, but I stuck with it and I wasn't disappointed!
there were a few details that just got lost and I figured that they would contribute to the overall story but they didn't.

Humanity at its most real!

Wonderful expression of humanity. All the joy, sorrow, love and laughter that make use Human are represented in this tale!
I could hardly leave it for a moment. (and have the bleary eyes to prove it.)

What a secret!

My first read from Hannah Mary Mckinnon but certainly not my last. The twists and turns are amazing and the ending was jaw dropping. Can't wait to read Sister Dear.

I loved it enjoyed it I was moved by some parts I had to cry. I wish it was a bit longer with more to it. I just did not want it to end.

Over dramatic

Story is outlandish and over dramatic, didn’t buy into the main character at all, do men really think like this? Not so much.
