About this listen

Marcia Brady, eldest daughter on television's The Brady Bunch, had it all. But what viewers didn't know about the always sunny, perfect Marcia was that offscreen, her real-life counterpart, Maureen McCormick, was living a very different - and not so wonderful - life. Maureen tells the shocking and inspirational true story of the beloved teen and the woman she became.

Maureen takes us behind the scenes of America's favorite television family. But the real story begins after The Brady Bunch ended. Maureen found herself tangled in a fast-paced, drug-fueled Hollywood existence that ultimately led to the biggest battle of her life.

There is no question: Maureen McCormick is a survivor. Here's the Story is the empowering, engaging, shocking, and emotional tale of Maureen McCormick's courageous struggle over adversity and her lifelong battle to come to terms with the idea of perfection - and herself.

Sorry, Marcia

Maureen's life was interesting enough, but, for an actress, her narration skills are awful! She literally is just reading to us. There is no connection to her words, no emotion WHATSOEVER, and very bland storytelling.
I have listened to so many biographies, and the thing that I love about them is that as you listen, it feels like that celebrity is right in the room with you, telling you their story. Not Maureen - she even seems to be struggling to read this boring book.

Heartfelt & Touching

I don't know why I naively assumed Miss McCormick had enjoyed an idyllic, carefree life, but she sets the record straight in this very heartfelt and honest account of the challenges she has faced so far. It felt like I was listening to an old friend, but one who I didn't truly know. I teared-up at times, hearing her recount some of the tough times and toxic people she's faced, and bringing the light of day to some dark family secrets that I think many of us can relate to but keep hidden. Her voice is as soft and sweet as ever, and she will always be my vision of the ultimate California Girl. Thank you, Maureen McCormick, for sharing your heart with us, and I suppose I will always have a crush on you.

Marcia, Marcia Marvia

it was good to hear that "Marcia" didn't go to Maureen's head. She is a very humble person. It was good to learn about her family drama. Its always good to hear how others survive their own family drama.
