About this listen
New York Times best-selling author Damien Echols presents an unabridged audiobook of the spiritual practices that helped him survive and transcend his ordeal on death row.
At age 18, Damien Echols was sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit. “I spent my years in prison training to be a true magician,” he recalls. “I used magick - the practice of reshaping reality through our intention and will - to stave off incredible pain, despair, and isolation. But the most amazing feat of all that practice and study was to manifest my freedom.” With High Magick, this best-selling author shares his first audiobook on these powerful spiritual techniques.
Though modern culture has consigned “magic” to fiction, stage illusions, or superstitions about witchcraft, the magick Damien learned is an ancient Western tradition equal to the Eastern practices of Buddhism, Taoism, and yoga in its wisdom and transformative power. Here he brings you an engaging and highly accessible guide on how to bring magick into your own life, including:
- What is High Magick? Damien clears away the stigma and reveals the history and core teachings of this extraordinary art
- The Four-Fold Breath - a foundational meditation practice to train your mind and body to channel subtle energies
- The Middle Pillar - how to bring divine energy into the central channel of your body for empowerment and healing
- The Qabalistic Cross - a centering technique to help you stay balanced and protected regardless of circumstances
- The Lesser Rituals of the Pentagram - powerful ceremonies for banishing negative energies and invoking energy to manifest your goals
- Working with angelic beings and thoughtforms
- Guidance for overcoming your doubts, enhancing your visualization skills, creating talismans, practicing magick ethically, and much more
“Magick is a journey,” writes Damien. “It’s a continuously unfolding path that has no end. You can study and practice magick for the rest of your life and you will still never learn everything that it has to teach you.” If you’re ready to discover your untapped potential for co-creating your reality with the energy of the divine, then join this extraordinary teacher to begin your training in High Magick.

This book which we've been working on for the last four years is called the The Movie of Me to the Movie of We. Everyone has a "Movie of Me" that they firmly believe in. As Krishna Das says, "You wake up in the morning, and you are the star, producer, writer, director, and cinematographer of the Movie of Me 24/7." In fact, we write our own reviews! That constant self-referential point of view leads to daily angst and unhappiness. In this book, we discuss and share ways to transform what the Buddhists call 'self-cherishing' into a deep connectivity with all of life itself.

Story
Almost 40 years since its original publication, Drawing Down the Moon continues to be the only detailed history of the burgeoning but still widely misunderstood Neo-Pagan subculture. Margot Adler attended ritual gatherings and interviewed a diverse, colorful gallery of people across the United States, people who find inspiration in ancient deities, nature, myth, even science fiction. In this revised edition, Adler takes a fascinating and honest look at the religious experiences, beliefs, and lifestyles of modern America's Pagan groups.

Lon Milo DuQuette spices up the Qabalah and makes it come alive, restoring the joy of learning the fundamentals of this admittedly arcane system by using simple, amusing anecdotes and metaphors.

Story
One of most important but little known concepts of Western occultism is that of the egregore, an autonomous psychic entity created by a collective group mind. An egregore is sustained by belief, ritual, and sacrifice and relies upon the devotion of a group of people, from a small coven to an entire nation, for its existence. An egregore that receives enough sustenance can take on a life of its own, becoming an independent deity with powers its believers can use to further their own spiritual advancement and material desires.

Clarity
A refreshingly optimistic viewpoint of the workings of our unseen essence, in a language that I identify wit. Damien's voice is honest and friendly. His descriptions and instructions are clear and ring true. I'm very excited and thankful for this book, and for Damien.

What amazing timing
When I received this book, such crazy timing for me. An exilent guide on simple meditations, to getting started with ritual magick. Take your time with the more advanced technical stuff. Be careful who you talk to about this. Not everyone gets it.

This is not High Magick
The principles described in this book can more accurately be described as New Age Self Help than High Magick. It is a perfectly mediocre self-help book, and I have no doubt it could help someone stop smoking or over-eating or having negative thoughts. It offers no insights, however, into the Magickical arts.
