About this listen

The instant New York Times best seller that reveals the collusion between Fox News and Donald Trump - with explosive new reporting covering the election and the January 6 riot.

As the nation recovers from the Trump presidency, many questions remain: Why was the COVID-19 pandemic so grossly mishandled? How did we get so politically polarized? What caused White nationalist groups to come out of the shadows, and are they here to stay?

The answers lie the twisted story of the relationship between Donald Trump and Fox News. Through firsthand accounts from over 250 current and former Fox insiders, CNN anchor and chief media correspondent Brian Stelter unlocks the inner workings of Rupert Murdoch’s multibillion-dollar media empire. The confessions are shocking: “We don’t really believe all this stuff,” a producer says. “We just tell other people to believe it.”

Stelter completes the story of the Trump years and looks toward the future of the network that made him. Hoax is a book for anyone who reads the news and wonders how we got here, and what happens next.

Someone else's sycophant

I came out of this book really being anxious about the feedback loop between Fox News and Trump. The informed analysis of this relationship is worth the charge of admission. You do find a number of other interesting insights into politics of journalism and journalism of politics. I did not find myself enamored with the author, as one often does. but that was not his goal. He is occasionally snide and slightly bitter, but his insider perspective is worth the moments of confusion and dislike.

Thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Eye opening and sometimes jaw dropping facts on the actual behind the scenes relationship between Trump and certain facets of Fox. A must read/listen if you are curious on who is actually running the US government.

This book will give you an inside into Fox and their manipulation of Trump.

This book is well written and easy to understand and follow. It delves into the Trump years in office, and the radicalization of Fox News and their following. There is inside information that will leave you to pick your chin up, off the floor. You cannot shut it off. There’s always more at every turn. Well done!

A snapshot of the accidental destruction of USA

Read (or listen to) this very thorough examination of "WTF hapoened?!!"

I know psyops and the role of propaganda. Trump is (was) a symptom of the cancer that will kill the Constitutional USA if left untreated. The (relatively new) information age handed a grenade to a child by providing self-feeding info-loops of things people want to hear (eg: Fox "News'). Useful in creating power bases but converting those people to merely a stable.of beasts of burden.

fascinating and disturbing is exactly what I felt. How we arrived here is clearer then before I listened.

Great book if you really listen.

I went into this book with an open mind and found that it was well written and factual. It may not be agreeable to all but the facts remain the same. I would recommend it to anybody with an open mind to see both sides.

Chilling inside look at Fox

This book provides a complete insider view of Fox News’ mercenary objectives regarding its complete fealty to Trump. Brian Stelter gives a easy, real but professional narration. I can honestly say if a good book is narrated by the writer, who luckily knows narration because he’s a broadcast professional, I’m in listening heaven!
