Det er historien om den stilfærdige nordmand Åge Hareide, der blev ansat til at genskabe fordums storhed på grønsværen og skabe fornyet begejstring for landsholdsfodbold herhjemme, men som undervejs fik at vide, at DBU ikke ville fortsætte med ham og i stedet ansatte Kasper Hjulmand. Fortalt via enestående og eksklusive interviews, reportage, baggrund og analyse af Kasper Steenbach, der har været med landsholdet overalt - på landevejen, i omklædningsrummet, i flyvemaskiner, til træning og til kamp. Interview med bl.a. Åge Hareide og spillere som Nicklas Bendtner, Christian Eriksen, Kasper Schmeichel, Thomas Delaney, Viktor Fischer samt mange flere. Dog - først som sidst - med Holdet som hovedperson.
