It's a period piece with action, espionage and unpredictability. Follett may not have the most profound symbolism, but he is one of the greatest literary entertainers I've read.

The story was good and I really enjoyed it. However, I almost stopped listening after a few minutes because the narrator was unbearable. He did bother sounding out the characters (men or women) differently. Once the story has developed, it became easier to ignore the narrator's voice and focus on the story

Great characters, and an interesting take on the early war from the Danish perspective.

Great pace and emotion, well written and well researched.

John Lee is my favourite narrator, so that made it even more enjoyable!
