About this listen

The astonishing novel from the number-one New York Times best-selling author Jodi Picoult about a young boy with autism falsely accused of murder.

When your son can't look you in the eye...does that mean he's guilty?

Jacob Hunt is a teen with Asperger's syndrome. He's hopeless at reading social cues or expressing himself well to others, though he is brilliant in many ways. But he has a special focus on one subject - forensic analysis. A police scanner in his room clues him in to crime scenes, and he's always showing up and telling the cops what to do. And he's usually right.

But when Jacob's small hometown is rocked by a terrible murder, law enforcement comes to him. Jacob's behaviors are hallmark Asperger's, but they look a lot like guilt to the local police. Suddenly the Hunt family, who only want to fit in, are directly in the spotlight. For Jacob's mother, Emma, it's a brutal reminder of the intolerance and misunderstanding that always threaten her family. For his brother, Theo, it's another indication why nothing is normal because of Jacob.

And over this small family, the soul-searing question looms: Did Jacob commit murder?

I was totally addicted to listening to this book!

I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this audio book! I found myself listening to it while I did everything... cooking, cleaning, walking, driving to work! The narrators were very captivating and Jodi Picoult wrote another amazing novel. Highly recommended!

Outstanding

As an autistic aid I loved the tenacity of the mother. Standing up for what her child needed. I appreciated the awkwardness of those around Jacob but the willingness of key characters to learn to be a help not a hinderance!

Disappointed with ending

the book was great however I was disappointed with the end. I figured the story out very early on in the book so I was disappointed when only maybe 1 paragraph summed up the whole senario

read this book, you will learn a lot!

Jody Picoult is such an amazing writer. she does her homework and knows a lot. her books are amazing. you learn through her books and get an understanding on whatever she writes about. this one is about Autism and I can relate to this book a lot because, my son has Autism. I cried, laughed and caught myself saying "yes, yes, yes, or oh my god, he does this as well, etc." I have learned a lot more about Autism and more about my sons needs/the way he understands things. Thank you so much for writing a great book. I absolutely loved it. Thank you for bringing Autism awareness to light, through a story and having others have a better understanding of children, teens and adults living with Autism. my heart is full.

Such a great story inside the mind of Asperberger’s Syndrome. But I don’t think the author knew how to end it. Disappointing

It had a great beginning, middle and absolutely NO ENDING. It’s such a shame for a talented writer to abruptly end a novel with no conclusion. For this reason I am sad to say I won’t be purchasing any more of her books. I need an ending to get my moneys worth.

Not happy with the narrator!

I love this author but the narrator is absolutely awful! I could not listen to it or get into to book. The voice made it very hard for me to follow the story so I couldn’t finish listening to it. Very disappointed !

Garbage

Background: my brother has Aspergers. I work with children on the spectrum.

This book was garbage. It was predictable, long-winded, and offensive.

Don’t waste your time. Unless you also believe that vaccines and gluten cause autism. Then, enjoy.
