About this listen

A forbidden obsession. Unyielding family allegiance. Three deadly challenges.

The Human

When a trip into the forest to collect a rare mushroom goes horribly wrong, I find myself falling through a fairy portal and straight into the arms of the Unseelie Fae prince. The dangerously unhinged and handsome Unseelie Fae prince.

What could be more horrible than that? He thinks I'm an assassin sent by the humans to kill him, not a biologist.

Determined to kill me first and rid himself of the human he has unwillingly grown obsessed with, yet also needing to entertain his people, the villain challenges me to three deadly trials.

If I survive, I gain my freedom. But if not...

The Fae

I've never felt anything but hate and loathing until my eyes found hers—the vile human assassin's. She is a parasite that has mercilessly latched onto my mind and won't let me free.

My hand itches to be ungloved and feel her smooth skin, even though I would never. The Unseelie Fae royals would rather burn than touch a repulsive human.

I fear that if I do not destroy the girl soon, she may be the only thing that's capable of truly destroying me.

Great twist but the story was not great

The story telling was not good and the elements could have been more explored. Plus the beginning was extremely boring

A Captivating Dive into a Dark Fantasy Realm: A Reader’s Perspective on “How Does It Feel?” by Jeneane O’Riley

I found "How Does It Feel?" by Jeneane O'Riley to be an enchanting and gripping read. The story pulls you into a fantastical world where Callie Peterson, a biologist, accidentally ends up in the Unseelie Fae realm. Her captor, the enigmatic and dangerous Prince Mendax, mistakenly believes she is an assassin. The narrative is filled with tension as Callie navigates three deadly trials to earn her freedom. The blend of dark romance, magical intrigue, and well-crafted characters kept me hooked from start to finish.

Meh

If I heard the word Amber cedar wood anymore (insert eye roll) and a few other descriptors that had been on heavy rotation made me irritated at times …In fact I found myself skipping parts without missing much at first, because it felt so overdone. However great when it came to the more intimate scenes.

I normally don’t sit down and write out a book review. But honestly this one deserves it! I couldn’t stop reading this book. I love the ACOTAR series so anything to do with fae I’m all in.

BUT THIS BOOK. I was on my seat the entire time and I recommend you give this a read. I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait until February to read on… go read this right now 😂

Shocking twist, but boring start and not a great performance.

I wanted to stop reading this a few times because I found the performance to be uncomfortable. I did not like the woman’s voice at all, and a lot of the accents were very corny. The spice level was just meh, but I think the next book should be better on that front now that the story had been built. The story itself starts out painfully slow and kind of boring, but the plot twist at the end actually made my jaw drop. I found it a bit repetitive and redundant at times as well. Pay attention to the small details that make you pause because they will all start to come together at the end. Excited for book two.

A must for every fantasy book lover

A must have on audible. The story captures you from start to finish. The plot, the twist and turns who would of known what was happening. I cannot wait for more. Excellent performance.

Don’t judge this book by it’s cover

The cover threw me off and I didn’t want to read it, but I gave it a chance and enjoyed ever minute. It’s a great story. I cannot wait for the second one!
