Andrea Owen—a nationally sought-after life coach—crystallizes what’s behind several invisible, undermining habits, from catastrophizing and people-pleasing to listening to the imposter complex or to one’s inner critic. Powerfully on the mark, the chapters are short and digestible, nicely bypassing weighty examinations in favor of punch points of awareness.

No one knew that her road to adulthood had been paved with depression, anxiety, and shame. Buy Yourself the F*cking Lilies is the story of Tara’s path to re-parenting herself and becoming a "ninja of self-love".

Story
The ADHD brain comes with some unique challenges, and until we recognize what they are, they will keep getting in our way. Starting new things, stopping others, concentrating, studying, getting stuff done, paying the bills, and getting on with life just seems so much harder for you than for others. That’s because it actually is, and it is time we faced up to this. ADHD brains are not wrong, weak, or broken–just different. And because the world is set up for neurotypical people, those with ADHD struggle to fit in with these systems which are not matched to them or their needs at all.

Very helpful
As someone who has to start over at 49, this book has been helpful. It was an enjoyable listen, in addition to being informative.
I’ve been extremely overwhelmed on what steps to take to begin my journey that I’ve been paralyzed and retreated myself to somewhere comfortable and familiar. This lead to nowhere, but back to point zero.
Listening to this book is like having a trusted friend hold your hand, showing you the way to the right path in a gentle manner. The author is very encouraging and not preachy. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to make positive changes in their lives.
