Approximately three years ago, my beautiful daughter arrived into this world. My husband and I welcomed her with open arms—ready to embrace all that parenting had to offer. Of course, we'd heard the horror stories about sleep deprivation, and the challenges of early parenthood, but we didn't make much of it. Instead, we were just overwhelmed with welcoming our little bundle of joy into the world.
Parenting isn't easy, and unfortunately, there is no manual to predict all that you will encounter in raising your child. However, thanks to social media, modern technology, and digital books, we have instant access to a wealth of information that can help make our lives as new moms and dads so much easier.
As new parents, my husband and I initially struggled to get our daughter to sleep for more than two to three hours at a time. This was no easy feat! But, through lots of research, trial and error, and a little bit of luck, we stumbled upon some surefire methods that eventually helped our daughter to sleep consistently for twelve hours every single night. And, she still does this today! This, without a doubt, returned some normalcy to our lives, and allowed us to give our daughter the energy she deserves.
I wrote this book because I wanted to share my knowledge with new parents who truly need help with getting their little ones to sleep. Personally, I sympathize with all of you who are struggling and wishing for a way to get some extra personal time. While I know we love our little ones, we also need to take care of our health and wellness. This, in turn, will allow us to be the best version of ourselves for our babies.
How I Got My Daughter to Sleep is personal to me. It reflects a time that I bonded with my daughter while instilling new ways to function as an expanded family. The methods in this book worked for us, and I wholeheartedly hope it does the same for you.
