Fabulous read! This should be a movie!
A story told incredibly well! This has a lot of heart and soul in it. It’s very easy to get involved with the storyline and each of the characters. Wonderfully orchestrated from beginning to end.

An incredible and empowering story!
I listened to this audio as I read along, and this book was hard to put down. The characters were portrayed from a well-rounded perspective, which really humanized the common experience in family systems and generational trauma. This story touched my mother wound in such a warm light, reminding me that healing generationally takes gratitude, reflection & communication. I feel very represented as far as my familial life experience, as if I was hearing this story from my kin.

A great read
Loved how the story developed revealing inter generational pain and healing. Following Drunella’s life is a peek into history through a black woman’s eyes and very enlightening! Delightful book
