Publisher's Summary

Author of Sunday Times best seller Life to the Limit.

In his 17 years as a Formula 1 driver, Jenson Button has picked up a thing or two about how to do the job properly. Sure, you need to be able to drive a car fast - and Jenson is on hand to pass on a few tricks of the trade here - but you also need to know the real rules for making it to the top.

Like, how to tell a multiple F1 champion they need to check their blind spot. What the difference is between a helmet and a hat, and indeed a 'helmet-hat'. How to practise your champagne spray ahead of the big day. Why it is never, ever, under any circumstances a good idea to buy a yacht. And how to face down your team when you've just stacked their multi-million-pound car into a wall during practice.

But 'JB' (nicknames in F1 run the full range from initials to, well, just using first names) doesn't stop there. HTBAF1D (catchy) lifts the lid on the people, the places, the weird rituals, the motorhomes, the media, the cars, the perks and the disasters. Join Jenson as he reveals how not to race a stupid big truck, why driving Le Mans is like having five shots of tequila before lunch and what to do when you finally hang up your helmet-hat.

As cool as the man himself!

Thoroughly thoroughly Enjoyed the whole thing! Brings a perspective to so many aspects of being an F1 driver and the candid revelation of Jensen himself. Always liked him in F1 and even more so now as a super nice bloke!

HOW TO BE AN F1 DRIVER ?

I am a big fan of F1 and I have been that way since the 90's While in College in Frome town in south west England a friend said. "There is a guy in my class who claims he will be a F1 driver" I laughed. Someone younger than me gave me a sinister stare as they walked past. That person was Jenson Button from my little town. Not only was he a F1 driver but a race winner and a world champion, driving for a team under financed and under sponsored. The plainest car of all the world champions of the modern eara. Sadly I never got to know the man as he is younger than me, but he is a true hero. And probably my favorite of all the world champions. The podcast deals with the life of a F1 driver. There is a lot of stuff that goes on behind the sense of the Grandprix itself. That we may not think about. In this book he explains how he has had to adapt and learn from the sport. I also love the fact there is audio so I can listen to the story. The screen was kind of boaring to stare at. Maybe put in a collage of pictures to assist the book. Or some visual to aid the subject.

Interesting stories with a sense of smugness

Not a bad book. A few funny and interesting stories at some stages but for the most part, a little too smug. Huge sense of self worth and lack of humbleness. I saw Jenson in a better light before this book I'm afraid. His autobiography is far better.
