About this listen
'It wasn't a conscious uncoupling. I had my heart ripped out and stamped on.'
When Rosie Green's husband walked out after 26 years together, he declined to leave a forwarding address. Instead, he left a devastated woman who turned into someone she barely recognised: unable to eat or sleep, and so desperate to keep her family together she'd sacrifice her sense of self - and her dignity.
She thought she'd never get over it. But she did. And so can you.
This is the frank, uplifting and insightful book Rosie wished she could have found when her whole world fell apart.
Here's your guide to getting through it - with advice from the experts, with the help of your friends, with a deliciously dark sense of humour and, for Rosie, with some highly inappropriate sex advice from her pre-teen daughter. Let her brilliantly honest handbook show how you can heal faster, understand yourself better and move on.
How to Heal a Broken Heart doesn't sugarcoat it - heartbreak brings you to your knees. But, sometimes, it also gives you a necessary shove towards a happier, more fulfilled life than you ever dreamed was possible.

The therapy I needed
I found this book through a random recommendation on a Facebook or Reddit post. I started listening to the free preview and was immediately drawn in to Rosie telling her story and the pain that she experienced. While our stories are different, the struggles and emotions are still the same, and I'm so appreciative of her bravery in speaking openly about heartbreak and the ways that her marriage ending impacted her. I couldn't stop listening until the end, and am now half way through listening to it again and picking up on new thoughts and messages as my healing has progressed.
The book clearly targets a female audience, but as a heartbroken husband I still had no trouble relating and deeply appreciating the messages she shares. I was able to relate to Rosie's experiences in ways that nobody else in my life has been able to express. It has helped to validate my pain and confusion, and to see my relationship (and the months I spent trying to save it) in a new light. Most importantly she has helped me to understand and forge a path forward, better than my months of therapy ever offered. I'm so glad this book was recommended to me, and that Rosie was bold enough to share her pain so honestly and openly with the world.
