About this listen
Unlike many personal finance books, How to Manage Your Money When You Don't Have Any was specifically written for Americans who struggle to make it on a monthly basis. It provides a respectful, no-nonsense look at the difficult realities of our modern economy along with an easy-to-follow path toward better financial stability that will give hope to even the most financially strapped households.
Created by a financial expert who hasn't struck it rich, this guide offers a firsthand story of financial survival in the face of rough times. Rather than emphasizing wealth creation, How to Manage Your Money When You Don't Have Any teaches listeners to do the best they can with their incomes no matter their size. Content rich, personal, and jargon free, the book is opinionated, at times humorous, and full of current everyday references.

How to manage your money when you don’t have any
This is a very helpful basic book about personal finance. If you are looking for a Rich Dad Poor Dad style book this isn’t it. This book is the very important and practical step before moving into wealth building books.
The basic budgeting steps laid out are simple and straightforward and the language used is clear easy to follow even while driving in the car.
The part I struggled with were the broad sweeping assumptions made about how people think and how they manage their money. I had to focus on the words “most people” or “most of us” and remember that there are exceptions. Also that this book was not written to discuss how I think about money but, the very broad problem of exceeding income that faces many people today.
If you are trying to stick to a budget, but can’t quite make it work I highly recommend this book and the extra step for budget building that is laid out in it.
