a must for puppy owners
If you're getting a puppy, this book is a must! It covers everything: from what to look for when picking a puppy, how to set up/prepare, training, housebreaking, solving negative behaviors. The real puppy storyline made the learning enjoyable! I've used so much of the information I've learned with our 3 month old puppy. If everyone read this book, there would be a lot less removed pup's! Highly recommend

Get to the Point
Great content, very helpful for a first time dog owner to understand the nature of dogs. However, about 50% of the content was not needed. Could have been way more succinct.

Required reading for puppy owners!
This book is great! It should be required reading fir those seeking to get a puppy. Dogs are only puppies for a short time in their lives. To set a dog and yourself up for success, you should read this first.

Anyone getting a puppy should hear this first!
Amazing book packed with knowledgeable advice! I highly recommend it. Beating your dog or any animal is never acceptable, it just makes them scared and eventually vicious. A light tap in the right spot with a discouraging sound will get the point across and maintain their respect for you and all humans.

I appreciate the basics & it was narrated well but it took sooooooo long to get any relevant how to style info which is imbedded within stories. Good for dog interest but 10 hours is a long time to sift through for how to best support our new rescue pup.

Listened over and over
For anyone wanting to understand how to raise, train and create the best possible environment for their new puppy or a dog that they are adopting and bringing into their life. I learned so many valuable tools and also have a better understanding of what our puppy needs from me. It makes so much sense to think about mimicking what a mother dog would do and taking our emotion and excitement out of it as hard as that is to provide our puppy the confident , calm pack leader it needs to grow to be a well functioning member of our family. Highly recommend.
