About this listen
Few of us are immune to the ideas we absorbed as children. We learned how to get approval or disapproval by creating the kinds of selves who would fit in and succeed with the "right" jobs, relationships, possessions, and so on. Even if we rebel against these ingrained notions by going in the opposite direction, we are still controlled by them. Either way, as adults we are often left feeling anxious or depressed because who we really are has been ignored.
Author Ira Israel, a uniquely multidisciplinary therapist, offers a powerful, step-by-step path to recognizing the ways we've worked to get our needs met and changing them with an approach that allows for understanding and accepting who we really are, the recognition of our true calling, and the path to the authentic love we were born deserving.

Deepens your understanding
I actually bought the book after listening to the audio book so I could lend it out to friends and clients. It is an easy read (it was an easy listen to!) and has basic comment sense explanations which helps people in taking control back of their lives.

Good insights
This was a good listen, he certainly makes some excellent points and articulates them well. I'll probably listen to it again. #Audible1

The book that I did not know I needed!
Gone through this 3 times now. Love it! Rather than preaching of ways to cope with anxiety or depression, this book goes more into why... It's started an amazing journey for me.

Well written, but too "certain".
The author seems to use the term "You will never" too often for myself. It seems as though there are just too many ideas that are dictated as concrete and unchangeable.

Great Entry Point
Probably the best and most comprehensive intro into the world of self development and the modern spiritual quest for happiness and the true self that I have come across. For once I actually wished a book was longer, like 2 or 3x would've been great. Provides a bird's eye view of so much that I've been learning about elsewhere, but synthesizes it into a single cohesive arc. When I write my first book, I hope it turns out like this. Will be looking for more from Mr Israel

this book is a repetition
Sounds like a repetition or summary from many other books, what's up with some writers these days? can't anybody have original ideas anymore?
