It's not a story like you would think
I love this author and love this narrator, so I took a credit for this one. But it's not a story, more a enumeration of differents creature with anecdotes of how to kill or befriend them. It's really well made and I enjoyed it. The story is tell by a half elf, a hero and a monster tamer. He tells about these creatures and have exemples and anecdotes. It's different but not a novel.

Not bad, but not good either
I was expecting a story, similar to other books from the same author, but this is book is an opiniated monster guide, written in the perspective of a character in the same world as the other books. The description of some monsters are interesting, but each chapters feels like a repeat of the previous ones. There is some useful information to understand that world, but the monster guide format made me often lose interest and space out for a while.
