Publisher's Summary

Jesse Livermore was a loner, an individualist - and the most successful stock trader who ever lived. Written shortly before his death in 1940, How to Trade Stocks offered traders their first account of that famously tight-lipped operator's trading system. Written in Livermore's inimitable, no-nonsense style, it interweaves fascinating autobiographical and historical details with step-by-step guidance on:

  • Reading market and stock behaviors
  • Analyzing leading sectors
  • Market timing
  • Money management
  • Emotional control

In this new edition of that classic, trader and top Livermore expert Richard Smitten sheds new light on Jesse Livermore's philosophy and methods. Drawing on Livermore's private papers and interviews with his family, Smitten provides priceless insights into the Livermore trading formula, along with tips on how to combine it with contemporary charting techniques. Also included is the Livermore Market Key, the first and still one of the most accurate methods of tracking and recording market patterns.

Great content, poorly narrated

I have the Chinese version of the paper book.
the book is great, but the narrator need more skills to 1. not to rush
2. not to pause too long if you do rush
overall experience is unpleasant due to the inconsistency from the narrator.

One of the best books

One the best books I have learned about making money in the stock market.

I had to write my own program to view the Livermore Market key, though.

Still 90% relevant in 2019

You know what's changed in 100 years? nothing, people are the same so are the patterns. You will not find better trading wisdom in any other books and I've read most of the good ones. If you're a profitable trader you'd probably enjoy the book but not need it. However if you are not profitable there's some nice simple nuggets in here.

This is still relevant because you see how a pro trader thinks and acts which is half the battle. Funny enough is most of the tactics are still relevant only the technology has changed/
