About this listen
A hilarious memoir of home truths and whatever the opposite of "that girl energy" is, from one half of the hit podcast Toni & Ryan.
Like most of us, Toni Lodge tells little white lies all the time. Whether it's "I'm five minutes away" or "It must have gone to my spam folder", most of these innocent fibs are harmless. But what if you realised that you weren't just lying about the little things, but the big "life" stuff too?
When Toni sat down to write this memoir, she realized that the lies she was telling herself were hiding some pretty important home truths—about her work, her identity and her mental health. In her dogged pursuit of these truths, she brazenly explores everything from gastro, fame and Twilight to funerals, the Dalai Lama and Brazilian waxes.
In this hilarious warm hug of a book, Toni exposes the lies she has told herself about who she is and what she is capable of, inviting us on a riotous romp that will make you laugh, cringe, cry and utterly rethink the truth behind the stories we tell ourselves.

Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

Loved every minute of this book!
Heard about this on the Toni and Ryan podcast. I truly love the podcast and knew I needed to buy this book. I am not disappointed at all. The part about losing your mom hit really hard. I lost my dad in 2012 and he did the same thing. My mom, brother and I visited him the day before and had such a wonderful day with him and then we got the call the next day that changed our lives forever. Thank you Toni for writing this book.

I cried with her and I laughed with her.
I have been listening to Toni and Ryan for a while now and was very interested when I found out toni did the audio for her own book. her voice makes me happy every day, so I decided to give her book a listen, and I am so happy I did. I love the way she tells her life story up until now and explains her grief her love and he struggles with anxiety. This memoir was made with great love and attention in my humble opinion, and I will be listening to it again.
