About this listen
Three fleets aim to wipe out a planet.
One team must raise the alarm...and time is running out.
As Moldark turns his attention to Capriana Prime, Magnus and his gladias attempt to convince the Republic’s leadership to raise the planetary defense shield. But this seemingly simple task turns out to be more difficult than anyone expected, placing the planet’s population in grave jeopardy.
Desperate to save the capital, Magnus and the Gladio Umbra fight to save the seat of galactic rule at all costs.
Azelon isn’t without her tricks, however, and provides new hardware for Magnus—the BATRIG mechanized battle armament system.
But as time runs out, Magnus is faced with the hardest choices of his life...and gambles will be made.
All for the greater good.
Includes a special note from the authors.
The Ruins of the Galaxy series is now performed by Christopher Ryan Grant, narrator of the bestselling sci-fi series Strange Company.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

For the first time, he thinks he has a shot at a better life. But survival is not guaranteed. Leading an elite team of mech operators, he is deployed to a frozen planet called Ferrous where dangerous relics of a past war lurk beneath the ice and savage creatures prowl the barren wastelands. The story keeps on giving, the new narrator is great!
I thought it would lose something special after RC Bray was replaced as narrator, and it did, but the new narrator is also excellent and did a great job bringing his own special to it. Yeah, the characters sound a little different, but that's alright, just takes getting used to.
No comment on the story. If you've gotten to this point in the series, you're enjoying it, I just wanted to comment on the change of actor.

Decent story continuation but poor narration
They changed up the narrator in this one folks and it’s very disappointing. This will be my last book in this series. I’m sure everyone lives happily ever after.

New narrator, but same action-packed thrill ride!
Another exciting instalment of ROTG. CRG take over the narrating duties from RCB, but the quality is still top notch!

Lost its soul.
Every character you got to know with the series feels like they departed with R. C. Bray.
Really tried to get into this, but the whole book felt flat and will likely be the last I listen to in this series.

just not the same
Why !
I'm really really trying to get through this one. It's just not the same without R.C.Bray. I'm sure Grant does a fine job with other novels. Magnus doesn't seem right, and other characters are distracting.
And the next book doesn't have Bray either.
