Publisher's Summary
Antony described this as “Ripley meets Reacher,” introducing a new series protagonist, Lynch – on the run from some kind of traumatic event in Paris. He arrives in London and a chance encounter, where he is temporarily mistaken by somebody for her long lost brother Heydon, introduces Lynch to Heydon’s super-wealthy family in Kensington.
Heydon’s mother, Miranda, hasn’t given up hope of finding out what happened to Heydon. Was he murdered, did he commit suicide, or could he even still be alive? Lynch agrees to impersonate Heydon, to go to meet some of the people who may have the answers, who may have been involved in Heydon’s death.
We don’t learn much about Lynch’s past, but we quickly get the sense that he’s not scared of much. I’m also including Joseph’s note of inspiration; he has very much in mind to a create a new Reacher for a new generation.
