Publisher's Summary

An award-winning journalist investigates a story largely ignored by mainstream media but right there, in front of our eyes ...

Are we not alone? The moment we have an answer might have arrived.

Award-winning investigative journalist Ross Coulthart has been intrigued by UFOs since mysterious glowing lights were reported near New Zealand's Kaikoura mountains when he was a teenager. The 1978 sighting is just one of thousands since the 1940s, and yet research into UFOs is still seen by many as the realm of crackpots and conspiracy theorists.

In 2020, however, after decades of denial, the US Department of Defense made the astonishing admission that strange aerial and underwater objects frequently reported and videoed by pilots and tracked by sensors are real, unexplained and pose a genuine national security concern.

Compelled to investigate, Coulthart has embarked on the most intriguing story of his career, speaking to witnesses, researchers, scientists, spies, defence officials and intelligence insiders in an attempt to sift the truth from the conspiracy. In the US, powerful new laws and a hardening of government resolve may soon force the military and intelligence communities to reveal what they know about alleged UFO crash retrievals and secret reverse-engineering programs.

Bizarre, sometimes mind-blowing and utterly fascinating, in this new edition of In Plain Sight, Coulthart explains why there is cause for optimism that 'the biggest story ever' might finally be about to break.

Keep looking at the sky.

If only half of what is being proposed here is true, we are up for interesting times. Fascinating, scary and exciting all at the same time.
If Aliens are indeed visiting Earth, they seem friendly, otherwise they could have exterminated humans long ago. Don’t know what to think, but I look at the sky with different eyes now!

The narration wasn’t all that good though, loud breathing noise, which are hard to blend out once you noticed them. And the voice imitations were also bit annoying.

Good story, performance/recoding could have been better.

Great content but horrible narration

The author should have gotten a pro/voice actor to narrate this book. His take on southern American/American/Canadian voice is offensive.

Fantastic and stranger than fiction!!

Most important conversation of our species.
Thank you Ross Coulthart for this extremely well researched book and for spreading the Truth! I finnished this in 3 days and I am continuing my own research.
By the way, you nailed the American accent. One person commented that your interpretation was offensive. HA. Go figure.

The Book We Needed

An exemplary investigation and sense-making exercise. Coulthart brings a no-nonsense yet open-minded approach to the rapidly developing UAP story. He even nails the American accent once in a small while! ;)

great book, well researched

this is quite a good historical record of all major UFO related sightings. Ross does a great job of pulling it all together and laying out the facts as he collected them.

Many puzzle pieces revealed here…. Love it!

Fantastic book! Although I wish Ross steered clear of doing “voices” for his characters as it was quite off putting at times. Otherwise brilliantly researched and delivered.

A conglomerate of mostly known ufo information

Although nothing really new is spoken about here, it's a good collection of ufo information regarding the USA and a story about Australia. Narrator needs to stop breathing into microphone between words.

Real investigation of the UFO Phenomenon

Overall, great book that pretty much covers nearly everything related to the UFO phenomenon. Hoping for another one.

Great story, not so great performance.

Immediately downloaded this book after hearing a two part interview with the author on a podcast I enjoy. Everything about the interview had me captivated and wanting more.

The story and facts related are awesome. But sadly, omnipresent emphasis on most words and frequent gasp-like and audible inbreathing between phrases, I find, give it a repetitiveness that is both daunting and offputing.

In my humble opinion, management of tone and emphasis are key to keeping a listener interested.

Cheers
