About this listen
Dr. George K. Simon knows how people push your buttons: your children---especially teens---are experts at it, as is your mate. A coworker may quietly undermine your efforts while professing to be helpful, or your boss may prey on your weaknesses. Manipulative people have two goals: to win and to look good doing it. Too often, those they abuse are only vaguely aware of what is happening to them. In this eye-opening book, you'll discover:
- four reasons why victims have a hard time leaving abusive relationships
- power tactics manipulative people use to push their own agendas and justify their behavior
- ways to redefine the rules of engagement between you and the abuser
- how to spot potential weaknesses in your character that can set you up for manipulation
- two tools for personal empowerment to help you maintain greater strength in all relationships

A MUST FOR ANYONE SUFFERING ABUSE
This book was amazing! It goes through all the types of aggressors and specifically deals with covert aggression. It defines the disorder and describes the symptoms of the abuse victims. Moreover, it shatters your shame, guilt, and self loathing by showing you how badly you’ve been manipulated. It goes on to teach you how to recognize these behaviours to avoid being trapped again. It shows you how to deal with these types of people, and it forces you to look inside yourself to change your behaviour in order to save your life. I would recommend this book to anyone who is mired in shame and wondering why everyone around them wants to control over them.

Book is interesting with relatable examples
Simple explanation for manipulative people and understanding them. more emphasis on how to deal with these tactics would be helpful. Confrontation is not always an option in the workplace; the people described are many managers. The narrator's imitation of women speaking is not only offensive but incredibly sexist and demeaning. Women only speak in weak and childlike voices?

Eye-opening book
This is a must-read for anyone dealing with a manipulative person. Since we all come across manipulative people I would even go so far as to say that everyone should read it. I definitely plan on giving this book to my daughter when she is mature enough to understand it to protect her from the manipulation I was subjected to for years.

Great context.
I love the content in this book. It’s is a great non-psychological way to outline the over used term of narcissism. That said, the only negative was the narrators attempt to Mix in a female voice during the authors story portions of the book. It was awkward and weird. Still a must listen.
