This was exacerbated by the loss of the fabulous narrator, James Langton, who brought Banks to life in previous audiobooks. This incarnation of Banks sounds like a yob, and it was hard to tell some of the male and female characters apart. Too much overacting with plummy sounds and slurpy sibilants impeded listening pleasure.
