Publisher's Summary

All Beau Montgomery, one of Charleston's most eligible bachelors, wants to do is build boats. He has no interest in marriage whatsoever...until it means he might not get his inheritance and he can kiss his boat-building dreams good-bye. But the hungry hordes of Charleston debutantes looking to score a Montgomery scare him shitless.

Gwen has loved Beau Montgomery since she used to run barefoot around the marina as a scrappy preteen tomboy. Knowing she'll never fit into his high-society family, she decided long ago she'd become his indispensable best friend rather than not be in his life at all. When he tells her he needs to marry in order to fulfill his dreams, she panics that he might actually meet someone, and she'll lose him forever.

Friends to Lovers

Beau and Gwen are interesting, entertaining, intriguing, relatable, fun characters. I enjoyed them as individuals and as a couple. Their romance is full of twists and turns, some of which were fun to read. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story. I love that we got to see Trystan and Emmy from the first book. The story felt chaotic

I enjoyed the audio version of this story and the narrators.

Not as good as the first

The story was kind of boring, most of what happened could have been condensed into half the time or add some more excitement like funny characters.

The male narrator was awful! He emphasized his words in all the wrong places and his speech didn't flow. The worst part was when he imitated the female characters voice, ewwwww, it was so deep and unattractive, it totally ruined the steamy scene!

Great book but the ending seems like it just stops and I have unanswered questions.

Story was Great, but...

the Narration was not as great. Better narrators in the first book. The male sounded like he was reading out of a text book. Towards the end it was difficult to listen to his reading parts.

Loved Every Minute of It

I enjoyed this book even more than the first one! A very relatable story of blurring the lines between love and friendship brought to life by 2 amazing narrators. Could not put it down.

Male reader is unlistenable

the story is fine but the male reader had brutal cadence. The first book in the series has a better reader.
