Not a practical guide to initiation

This is a very detailed account of all the myriad steps of initiation, and although the book claims to be an introductory on the subject for lay peoples, it is dense and very challenging to follow. It somehow manages to say much without revealing anything. I found it amusing to listen to all the ceremony and ritual involved in initiation towards the loftiest spiritual paths, but it was all so fantastical that it has little to no bearing on the average person’s life. Might as well be fiction. If the information contained is true, then life is way weirdo than fiction.
