Publisher's Summary

At a shadowy company (Karoli Robotics Corporation) owned by a Sillicon Valley billionaire, a scientist named Jim creates an AI that can fool the Turing test at the same time as his colleague, Daniel, successfully synthesizes DNA in a test tube. Daniel's attempts to reanimate dead chimps using his discovery have been unsuccessful, but when his friend Laura Bocelli is killed by being trapped inside a lab freezer, Daniel is presented with the perfect specimen. However, Laura is irreparably brain dead.

Daniel and Jim join forces to reanimate Laura using the DNA technology as well as the AI, creating a brilliant but psychopathic new Laura.

A year later a young journalist starts digging into the new CEO of Karoli Robotics Corporation, Laura Bocelli, and finds more than she bargained for. Laura will do anything to protect her secret and her plan to engineer a race of AI Cyborgs made in her image.

Entertaining

I found the performance great the story was light but dun. Although I found gaps I understanding how certain events transpired as the events were not adequately explained it was as if events drifted into one another at times. There was no explanation as to how the events transpired to get to the conclusion" i suddenly found my self wondering if snippets of audio were missing. Like near the ending. .

like the narrative

The story is the typical takeover, science gone wrong type of thing. The beginning of the book was my favorite, very intriguing but relaxing, like wanted to keep listening to understand what was going on.
Once the plot started unraveling, I knew exactly what the book was about and how it was going to end, and it did not change by the end, very standard. However, if you don't know the main book that all other storylines are based on, it's going to be fun.
Overall, it's a good book and loved the performance. Even though, I knew what was going to happen, I wanted to keep listening.
