About this listen
It's a demon-eat-demon world for Nick Gautier. Just when he thinks he's finally gotten a handle on how not to take over the world and destroy it, Death returns with an all-star cast that is determined to end the Malachai reign and lineage forever. Worse? Death and War have found the one, true enemy Nick can't find, and even if he did, it's one he could never bring himself to banish or kill.
Now framed for murders he hasn't committed, and surrounded by new friends who might be turncoats, Nick is learning fast how his father went down in flames. The heat in New Orleans is rising fast, and Nick's threat-level has gone into a whole new level of intensity.
He's learning fast that when War and Death decide to battle, they don't take prisoners. They don't negotiate. And they're both immune to his biting sarcasm and Cajun charm. To win this, he will have to embrace a new set of powers, but one wrong step, and he will belong to the side of Darkness, forever.
Contains mature themes.

I liked chronicles of nick but not book 8
I liked the series chronicles of nick I have bought the books, bought the audio books too but this last books was so short it's not even funny and it's was jumping from one thing to another to another to another and so on. It also sounded like this was the last book how they ended it but maybe it's not I don't know. It was a gigantic let down and the last fight was instant so so boring (you thought it would be a big scene but it was two sentences).
To me it seemed like the author gave up of this series and just said to the hell of it and tossed it in the garbage. (couple days later I added more to mt review as I couldn't stop thinking of how much of a let down this was) SPOLIER. made book 1-7 useless completely pointless I was so so EXCITED for book 8 and now I've been upset for over a week.

Recognise It For What It Is
This book is short and not a ridiculous amount really happens... BUT -it's clear(knowing the next books are going to be their own series) that this book is just meant to bridge into a refreshing next chapter in Nick's journey- a new beginning, and a rejuvenated storyline for the finale to come!

Reverse Character Development
Very disappointed with the ending of the story. I have lost interest in this series with the results of Kody leaving and Nick reverting back to who he was in Infinity.
