About this listen
Invest Local is a peek into the thoughts of local deal-making expert David Barnett. His experience and education in business brokerage, small business financing, and private finance gives him an insight into what’s wrong with the common financial planning advice available today and how you can make superior investment returns while mitigating risk and helping your local community.
Big banks make huge profits lending to people in your community and small businesses all around you. Learn how you can help these people and entrepreneurs and keep more of these profits in your home town. Barnett offers step-by-step guidance on how to earn returns ranging from nine percent to infinity by doing car leases, secured loans, inventory financing, buying accounts receivables, financing mini and mobile homes, operating leases on machinery and more. High yield investing does not have to mean high-risk investing.

Solid financial advice.
The author begins with a thorough summary of investing options. Perhaps more time was spent on other ventures, but for the novice investor, it was a good beginning.
However, in time, he offers a number of reasonable and achievable options of how and where one can place their money locally.
Most of the invest in small business books assume the small business is still a million dollar company. Barnett works with people in micro loans of just thousands of dollars and shows how that can be beneficial for the borrowers and profitable for the lender.
I plan to continue learning from Barnett in other resources, as I add venture capitalism deals to my investment portfolio.
