About this listen
A startling phenomenon has occurred: The island of Nantucket has been swept into the long-ago past. With its inhabitants adrift in the year 1250 BC, there is only one question to be answered: Can they survive?

glad I listened
Narrator pronounces some things very oddly. And needs to work on talking like a girl. I enjoyed the book anyway.

Brutally visceral
I really apprciate alternate history stories but this one I found a bit too much in the action sequences, it was brutal. Plus i found some of the attitude of the characters left an ick factor even when they were the “good guys”.
The narrator (or the producer) did not leave a long enough gap between sections. Just another beat or two would have been beneficial. Not sure why he did not give the characters the accents as they were written as having.
However, the research was well done, and I enjoyed that aspect enormously.

Great idea
Mild spoilers. I'm not sure if I liked it or not. I wanted a great adventure in a new world. I got something darker with lot of physical and sexual violence in a word where nobody really care.
I really liked the idea and some events on Nantucket island. The "base building" part is great and is over way too fast to my taste. I didn't like much most of the adventures. Time frames are all messed up. Events that should take months or even years are sometimes done in a few days.
The performance is ok but the audio quality is not. The narrator doesn't pause when there are scene breaks and between two sentences he sometimes skip a week or an ocean.
I think I kind of liked the book. Especially the beginning on Nantucket island. But I'm not sure I will buy the next one.
