Publisher's Summary

Whoever said life begins at 40 must have been heavily medicated, drunk, or delusional.

Thirty-nine was a fantastic year. I was married to the man I loved. I had a body that worked without creaking. My grandma, who raised me, was still healthy, and life was pretty damned good.

But as they say, all good things come to an end. I’d honestly love to know who “they” are and rip them a new one.

One year later, I’m a widow. My joints are starting to ache. Gram is in the nursing home, and dead people think my home is some kind of supernatural bed-and-breakfast. Gluing body parts onto semi-transparent people has become a side job - deceased people I’m not even sure are actually there. I think they need my help, but since I don’t speak dead, we’re having a few issues.

To add to the heap of trouble, there’s a new dangerously smokin’ hot lawyer at the firm who won’t stop giving me the eye. My BFF is thrilled with her new frozen face, thanks to her plastic surgeon, her alimony check, and the miracle of Botox. And then there’s the little conundrum that I’m becoming way too attached to my ghostly squatters.... Like Cher, I’d like to turn back time. Now.

No can do.

Whatever. I have wine, good friends, and an industrial sized box of superglue. What could possibly go wrong?

Everything, apparently.

All in all, it’s shaping up to be a wonderful midlife crisis....

Unique & Fun!

When you love a book so much that you listen to it all in one go, I think the writing & storyline speaks for itself!
I feel a connection to the main character, Daisy, in the ways she thinks, acts, speaks and conducts herself (as I’m sure a lot of women will who choose to listen to this awesome book!).
Although I do NOT interact with non-living & immortal beings (unfortunately. Lol), I found the plot & characters to be the perfect motley crew for a great story.
Looking forward to the next book (which I’m just about to start!!!!)

It's a wonderful Life midlife crisis review

It's a wonderful Life midlife crisis is an excellent story. You are left intrigued to see what's going to happen around the next corner. So far, through most of it, you're not quite sure where the twist and turns are going to happen, but you know they're coming up and that keeps you interested. I highly recommend it.

Great story!

l loved the story but found the reader shrill and loud and so fast. it was like a panic attack for 7 hrs. Almost quit after the first couple of chapters but glad I hung in and am looking forward to the next book. Still not crazy about reader but kind of got used to her style

Audible version

Not my usual book type but came free with subscription so thought I would try it. Initially thought narrators voice was too high but I got used to it. First audio book I’ve listened to where the narrator gave so much inflection. Highly recommend

engaging and funny

The story was great, but I will warn that every book in the series so far (1-10) ends in a cliffhanger and every book repeats the last chapter of the previous book. I hate cliffhangers and it was ok as I was able to read the books one after the other, until I got to book 10. I saw the cliffhanger start to be set up so just stopped the book there before going further. Other than that the books are great, can't put them down, laugh and cry out loud roller coaster rides of enjoyment. I highly recommend if you can handle the cliff hanger endings or if not then wait for the series to be finished before reading.

The narrator is fantastic!!! A+++. I will be looking for more books narrated by Jessica Almasy.

Amazing from start to finish

Reading the book was great and awesome, but listening to it brought a new twist to it. Jessica Almasy is a terrific narrator and made me laugh even more than I did when I read the book upon its release. Which is… more than a lot.

An absolute must.
