Publisher's Summary
"I wear the black for those who've never read or listened to the words that Jesus said."—Johnny Cash
Listen to the New Testament (NKJV) read in its entirety by music legend Johnny Cash. After 20 years of encouragement from his mother to record the Bible, he approached the recording of the New Testament with "fear, respect, awe, and reverence for the subject matter."
Cash added, "I also did it with a great deal of joy, because I love the Word." Enjoy listening to one of the most distinctive voices of our time in this wonderful audio edition of the Word of God.

Best NKJV AudioBible
Even if you're not a fan of Johnny Cash’s music...his narration of the Scriptures shine with affection and passion. It is clear from listening to him reading out loud that these are verses which he’d read countless times before, and that this is a Book he spent hours pouring over with heartfelt prayers and many tears.
For example, when Johnny reads the 17th chapter of the Gospel of John, this sweet old man in black reads the prayer with tears in his eyes and a voice that sounds as though he’s choking back tears. This is the prayer of Jesus immediately before His arrest and crucifixion, and you can hear the intensity and engagement in Johnny’s voice as he reads, almost prays the words himself.
“O Righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You!”
I could not recommend this audiobook enough. Since I purchased it almost six years ago, there is no audiobook or audioBible that I have listened to nearly as much as this one.
My only complaint of this perfect audiobook is that I wish Johnny had also narrated the Old Testament. No narration of the Scriptures comes close in my humble opinion. It's definitely worth a purchase.
If you’re tired of dry narrations of the Bible, or narrations where emphasis is put on the wrong words, this will blow you away.
Especially the Gospels, and the letters of Paul. There is so much passion and affection in Johnny’s voice for the Man in White: Jesus the Christ.

Most peaceful audio version of the Bible
This is by far the best option for listening to the Bible. Johnny’s voice and demeanour are peaceful and calming. Many other readers tend to draw attention to themselves and overdramatize as they read. Johnny reads in such a way as to draw me into the text. This really helps me comprehend what I’m listening to.

No chapter sections!?!?
It’s a beautifully narrated version that’s made almost worthless by the fact that the separate books are not the chapters, audible has marked random places for chapter breaks, so this is not navigable.
Poorly done audible. I rebuke you in the name of Jesus!

Chapters
This does not have the chapter breaks at the beginning of books, or in any real logical pattern at all. People have been complaining about this for years Audible. Could you PLEASE put chapter breaks at logical points for a given work (especially a Bible), or AT LEAST make available a list of hour, minute, second timings of the book so I can awkwardly manually scrub to them if I want to listen to them? I really don't want to have to buy a separate audiobook of Romans just to listen to it at will....
