WONDERFUL After Cliffhanger
(my review disappeared so here we go again)
It was wonderful to finally hear what happened to all our favorite characters in this great series! Incredibly disappointing, maddening, to not be able to find it for a few years after the series abruptly ended on a terrible cliffhanger with our 'friend' giving birth while a Spitfire crashes into the house she's in, the Doctor's and the Simm's house!
Enjoyed the nuanced performance of Leanne Best, she got into the characters very well. One thing against, though: we listened to it on our tablet augmented by a bluetooth at full volume on both, and in the last chapters she got really intense (not a bad thing at all) by lowering her voice to just above a whisper, and we couldn't hear her, had to get right up close to the speaker, which is time-consuming when you want to keep working. So that could be improved to be sure, though not certain how now that the recording is published and out there.
For those trying to figure out which book (of the several offered) continues right where the TV series ends with the plane in the house, this is the one. Some of the others hinted they might be, but this is one. This book ends with several things that could be continued, so we'll want to be looking to get A Woman's War, and A Woman's Courage for that purpose.
Enjoyed hearing this book for sure, though!
