About this listen
Cilla
The Beast had Belle. Killian Black has me.
How I got here doesn’t matter, even though he says it does. Says it was my choice. He doesn’t get it, though. It wasn’t ever a choice for me.
And now, he’s changing the rules.
The agreement was one month. For 30 days, I’d be his. He’s no longer satisfied with my body alone, though. He wants my soul, too. Wants every part of me. And even though I can pretend I’m safe when I lie beneath him, this man does something to me. Something wicked.
A thing that will break me.
Killian
Cilla made the choice. She offered the deal. I just took her up on it. So what if I changed the rules halfway in? I’m not apologizing for it.
See, Cilla and me, we’re the same. She’s dark. As dark as me. Something happened to her. Something bad. It damaged her.
But it’s not a hero she seeks. It’s an avenging angel. A dark knight. That, I can do. I’ll slay her dragons, but it’ll cost her, because in return, I want everything. And I’ll take it.
She’s mine.
Killian is a stand-alone dark romance, originally published as Captive Beauty.

It's not a regular party, but instead, my wedding. To Angelo Rizzo. A coldhearted man who's feared by all. Including me. Turns out my stepbrother owes the Cosa Nostra money, and I'm being used to repay his debt to Angelo Rizzo. Do I have a choice? No. Not when it comes to matters concerning the Cosa Nostra. Three hours later, I have a new shiny wedding ring on my finger and a husband I'm terrified of standing by my side. Yep, my life just took a turn for the worse.

Story
They say your first kiss should be earned. Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky. They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred. Mine were broken before we left church. They say your heart only beats for one man. Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end. I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit. Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

Story
Running away from home at 17 wasn't easy. Let's face it, though, nothing before or in the ten years since has ever been easy for me. And I'm doing okay—sorta. I just need to keep scraping by, living under the radar. Staying out of people's way, off people's minds. When a man walks through my open patio door, stepping boldly into my home and my life, I should be scared, frightened, terrified. I must be more broken than I realized because I'm none of those things. I'm intrigued—and I'm wondering if the way to take control of my life is by giving in to him.

Mixed feelings about this one
I liked it, but I also didn’t like parts of it as well. I think the second half was better than the first. I almost stopped listening a few times.

Hit my ears just right
Dark story, broken characters and some nice spice. A good storyline over all but for me what really made me enjoy it is the narrators. I like the way this was performed, kind of measured with an underlying intensity. Christian Fox is always a favourite of mine. Hit my aural nerves just right!

Dark hero indeed
I understand the negative comments however self harm is to escape the mental harm you can't face. Killian couldn't protect his sister and it twisted him. Cillia is broken and hasn't dealt with her abuse. Believing she is okay as all victims do. Killian's pain gives her the escape she needs to feel free because the pain of her past is too great. However Killian recognize her demons and helps her face it (gives her pain to represent what's inside her and let it go) so she can heal. The connection, sex and romance between them is HOT. This story is how both are able to heal each others deep wounds and live. Loved the story and it was dark but there was beauty in how people can heal from being so broken.

In my top 5
This is in my top 5, right next to Haunting Adeline. The emotions expressed hit me right to my core, and the smut scenes left me breathless.

Good book
The book is good not great the story line is like many others. However, I appreciate the author not dragging on the plot. It’s dark though and can be triggering.

Not My Thing But Loved It
For some reason the darkness in them resonated with me. And it read the way I think with the punchy sentences. Christian Fox is one of my favorite narrators and now Genvieve is too. It's dark and can be triggering.

Not really a dark novel
This story has all of the makings to be a dark romance but other then it being a slave / master and some mentions of the things but it isn't a story I'll revisit or really think about again

Story could have been good
I don’t know why authors make female lead always so unlikeable. Kill as a person was interesting and I really liked him. But Cilla was terrible and annoying. Even with her own brother who is clearly and utterly traumatized. But she keeps making it worse for him. She also throughout asks stupid and obvious questions and just seemed confused. And the female narrator was terrible. I’m not sure who I disliked liked more. Anyways I won’t read/listen to anymore of this authors books. There legit alllllllll the same. Male narrator is awesome
