better than the first book !
I loved the first book and binged it, but the second one was so intense, frustrating at times but keeps your hooked! I also really liked that this book had different voices for each character.

Gobbled it up
Enjoying this series and so far books 1 and 2 were the best. It was a frustrating one because of young characters doing stupid things but definitely not unbelievable things. Not entirely unpredictable but I did not care. Lots of parts I did not predict. Dark but not disgusting. Enjoyable.

Not as gripping as book 1.
I like the different POV in the book but found the sons character to be annoying. His internal dialogue was whiny at best, but I am generally not a fan of children.
I didn't like the anticlimactic ending, it was so abrupt and lacked the intense details that I think was needed to tie up some loose ends.
I still liked it enough to purchase the remainder of the series. And upon first listen, book 3 seems a lot better.

sequel to Stillwater Lake
After listening to Stillwater Lake and the unsatisfactory ending I went looking for a sequel and Killman Creek fulfilled the need for resolution. If you felt ripped off with the ending of book one you will want to read book two.

Liked book 1 more
I enjoyed listening to the 1st book so I used a credit for book 2. I should've saved the credit&read the book. I struggled to get through this one because of the performances and the irritating kids voices. There were times I found myself skipping 30sec to get passed the whining but not to miss the story line.

Not as good as Book 1 but worth the listen
I was somewhat disappointed with this follow-up because I had such high expectations based on the first. Some of the character development could have been better and more consistent. Unlike the first book, I found it hard to understand certain characters' motivations, even when their inner thoughts were being narrated. it was particularly egregious for the protagonist's son, to the extent that I developed a strong dislike for the character, making it hard to feel empathy for him.
overall, however, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next installment.
