La crónica reseña la violencia que vivió Metlatónoc el 25 de septiembre de 2000, sumergido entonces por la matanza de Aguas Blancas y con la presión no sólo de la guerrilla y el Ejército, sino del narcotráfico, que se apoderó de la región para el cultivo de amapola.

Es una historia que ha quedado guardada en la memoria del pueblo ñuu savi (mixteco o del “pueblo de la lluvia”) que no había sido contada por los medios.

Florentino Solano es jornalero en las montañas de la Sierra Madre del Sur, en Guerrero, en uno de los municipios más pobres y recónditos de México. Solano escribió la crónica en mixteco y en español. Este audiolibro presenta la versión en español.
