Publisher's Summary

Lady Calliope Manning is determined to punish the man she holds responsible for her beloved brother’s death.

She will do anything in her power to destroy him. When rumors swirl that the Earl of Sinclair requires a wealthy bride to rescue himself from dire financial straits, she seizes the opportunity to ruin him at last.

Justin “Sin” Vaughn, the Earl of Sinclair, needs to marry an heiress, and he needs to marry one now. But the sudden, anonymous publication of salacious memoirs rumored to be his obliterates his chances. With polite society convinced he is a murderer, he has only one choice: Find the person behind his supposed memoirs and get his revenge.

Callie never expected Lord Sinclair to discover she wrote Confessions of a Sinful Earl...nor to abduct her and demand restitution in the form of her own hand in marriage. She definitely did not expect to find him so difficult to resist.

Sin is about to teach the beautiful, perfidious Lady Callie a lesson in ruthlessness one scorching-hot kiss at a time.

Just So So

Story line wasn’t bad but the characters were kind of pathetic and often overly angry.

steamy story

John Lane was amazing as usual. The female's male voice was attrocious, and most cringe worthy.

great story!

I truly enjoyed this enemies to lovers book, it was funny and the characters were believable. the performance by the guy was great but the girl, when she spoke for the Hero made him sound like he had laryngitis or was a 90 year old man who had smoked most his life. it was a little distracting, I kept thinking the Hero must be so much older.

Review of Lady Ruthless

I really enjoyed this book. I read most of her series but The League of Dukes are my favorite so far. I started this series a at the beginning of this week and I'm already on my 4th book in the series. Thank God I can listen to audio books at work!!!!

Not worth your credit

Look. I’ve read every Melanie Moreland book so when she kept referencing these books in her own, I thought I’d give them a try. I figured they would, by and large, be fairly similar in nature: average writing, mostly predictable with repetitious tropes, and decent spice. What I did not expect was pure, hot, steaming garbage.

Aside: John Lane does what he always does which is somehow manage to polish cringey dialogue into something far more interesting than it is. He’s the only good thing about this book. Bless him and give him a raise.

Here’s what you have to look forward to:
1. Two characters having the same conversation over and over again for chapters on end (I’m talking 6 straight chapters). Neither makes any effort to explain or present a rational or intelligent argument, instead they do the whole “because I said so” and “just do it” method of communication
2. A female lead that possesses absolutely zero charisma or like-ability. There is not a single thing about her that will make you root for this woman. She’s not smart, she’s not funny, she’s not brave or kind. She’s the actual worst. Genuinely, she must be unreasonably hot, because Sin sure as hell didn’t fall for her personality or character. You will detest her and will not be able to put yourself in her shoes lest you end up hating yourself
3. A character who contrives a story out of thin air and believes it so completely she decides to ruin a man’s life over it and, once faced with (so much) evidence disproving her theory, does not feel or express even an ounce of shame or contrition. Somehow, she manages to remain as self-righteous and entitled as ever and decides she has every right to continue to treat the man she screwed over like he is the bad guy and she’s his victim. She possesses zero “maybe I should learn the whole story first before jumping to conclusions” character and just repeats the creation of conflict in her head over and over.

Save yourself the time and the credit; this title is simply not worth it.

Too Twisty to Follow

John Lane excellent but didn't like female narrator. Story was too long and drawn out .
