About this listen
Humanity falls...
Trapped in the shower by her undead husband, Morgan prays for rescue but quickly realizes she's on her own. She escapes, only to find that the horror has spread and now threatens everything she holds dear. With each passing moment, death becomes more certain.
Logan returns to his childhood home and teams up with Max, an army deserter racing against the clock to save his family. When the infection outruns them, they face the real possibility that everyone they know is already dead. Or worse, undead.
All it takes is one mistake. As the sun sets against the backdrop of the African veldt and living nightmares walk the streets in the shape of their loved one's bodies, humanity's last hope rests in the hands of ordinary men and women called to do extraordinary things.
For fans of The Walking Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and all things zombie comes your next obsession, a thrilling series that you won't want to end. This is book 1 in the Dangerous Days series and packs a serious apocalyptic punch!

First zombie book to give me actual anxiety
This book really knows how to invokes a feeling of stress and terror. I've never read a book that truly gives me the feeling of anxiety and in some points sorrow. Very well written and well read, my only complaint is that when the voice actor impersonated women and children his voice was almost comical, but that's a very minor complaint.

Straightforward 'Walking Dead'-styled ZA Tale
Baileigh Higgins provides a moderately unoriginal series of encounters among survivors conglomerating into groups for safety. Periodic trips "into town" to get dwindling supplies, straight-up evil sociopaths & psychopaths (wandering rape gangs, etc.), and implausibly altruistic "good guys" trying to find loved ones - all with the ever-present threat of hordes of cannibalistic zombies - inform the television serial screenplay-quality book.
The good news? She's quite good at it. Characters are a little typecast.. but realistic. Higgins is also great at building tension and scripting harrowing combat.
The bad news? There is no overlying plot structure (there is literally ZERO character motivation in this book beyond *Survive*): some characters try to help others and some take advantage of chaos to help only themselves.
The result is an admittedly entertaining book that lacks purpose & flow and isn't terribly edifying (eschewing any formal social commentary).
"Adequate" narration from Greg Tremblay contributes to my "satisfactory" rating for the recording. His diction, timbre, cadence, pacing, and tone are solidly professional (if unspectacular) - but his voice-acting is variable. The story takes place in South Africa - but Tremblay's Afrikaans-flavored accents - while generally creditable - often sound Kiwi.
This book could have been read equally well by someone else.
This Podium Audio offering rates a respectable 9 stars out of 10. For certain, I have consumed better zombie fiction.. but as a 'Plus' selection, 'Last Another Day' was more than worth my time. Should Audible ask for a Credit it would merit one - provided you're happy with uncomplicated Robert Kirkman plotting (I am now and again).

Riveting...realistic fantasy!
The story and Narration were excellent. The characters were plausible and it's well worth the time to listen.
