Earl Nightingale grew up in California during the Great Depression. Because his family was very poor, Earl educated himself in his local library. His main focus: what makes people turn out the way they do, in terms of their wealth, their career achievements and their happiness.
After beginning his career in the US Marines during World War II, Earl was hired as a radio announcer. He eventually became a popular daily broadcaster for CBS. Through his interest in both personal development and audio, he partnered with Lloyd Conant to form the Nightingale-Conant Corporation. At Nightingale-Conant, he focused on recording the ideas and lessons about success that he studied throughout his life.

YOU Lead the Field
I was thinking this was about being a great leader in a leadership role. Really, it's about developing a strong mental mindset, providing courage to change and attaining an attractiveness that others will want to follow. The Leader Within. It's a short, but very hard hitting input of information that as soon as I completed the first listen, I had to go back for another go-round.

Fantastic author, great advice, very interesting
Fantastic author, great advice, very interesting perspectives on life, satisfaction, and priorities.
Author suggests that people are happier working towards goals, compared to recently accomplishing goals. I think he is correct. He references going to a restaurant. The family is usually excited and happy on the way to the restaurant, and happier than after the restaurant, on the ride home. Incredible perspective.
He also says:
- Find gold in your pasture (look at your work or business and uncover hidden gems of value)
- Cause and effect; the only way to obtain more wealth is to serve more people and give more value
- Think your way to success, a cliche but true nonetheless
- Says your mind is your greatest power and the most under utilized asset for the human race
- Learn your language, the English language THEN focus on your area of interest. Those 2 will guarantee wealth and success.
I highly recommend giving this a listen, although there is a free audio version on YouTube (and is legit). Hope this helps!
