Publisher's Summary

It was one of the greatest breakthroughs in human history. An achievement that stunned the entire world. And it was only the beginning.

Facing the cold, clear glass, Alison Shaw stared nervously into the giant seawater tank. It was just one year ago that she and her team of marine biologists had stunned the world with their incredible breakthrough. And now, they were about to do it again. But an ocean away, something strange was unfolding.

Along a lonely coast in South America, an experimental Russian submarine, long thought to have been dismantled, has suddenly resurfaced. And the US Navy has taken notice, sending Officers John Clay and Steve Caesare to investigate.

The sub has been studying a group of unmarked soldiers. Disappearing into the jungle each night beneath the cover of darkness. Something has been discovered...something big. And it's about to fall into the wrong hands.

Unless Alison Shaw and her team can find something that no one else can.

fantastic adventure

Loving this new serious I recently discovered. a mix of mystery, adventure with some sci fi mixed in. These books need to be under more audible categories to find. The female characters don't just wait around to be rescued. A nice change from other male authors.

Another excellent story

Like the previous book in the series Leap is well written, great plot and solid characters that come life with Scott Brick’s performance. You can’t go wrong buying this book.

Continuing to be great

Michael C. Grumley followed up Breakthrough with another solid entry. The characters remain great and the plotting has improved making for a marked improvement all around.

One complaint I had with the previous entry was with regards to the antagonist, who seemed rather one-dimensional. I didn't see any motivation for his behaviour save for a misguided belief in his own correctness and in his future political ambitions. These are valid motivations, but are rather uninteresting. He was more of a cookie-cutter villain -- completely forgettable.

In Leap, the antagonists have some emotional depth that underscores their actions. There is one exception, but he is more of a pawn -- and a psychopath, to boot. The others are driven by real issues in their lives: anxieties and desires. This provides context and meaning that is absent in antagonists who are simply evil.

I look forward to continuing with these series in the future.

Leap

I love all the good, and hate the bad. I wish humans were more humane as a culture. Our greed is killing everything beautiful. I love the writing and the narration in the audio-version

I’m probably the wrong audience

Books like this should be labeled clearly for the children they are intended.
I didn’t care about any of the characters. To me everyone was one dimensional and nothing bad happens to anyone and everyone is happy in the end. Blah.
