this story has everything. listen and you'll love it. In depth story telling, adventure, epic battles and of course Druss... this man is the legend! This book has gotten me to read/relisten to all of david gemmell's books. a must read!

this is the pinnacle of story telling

This was a turning point in my reading career, the drenai chronicle defined me as a reader, writer, and person. This book was the start of it all, and i cant thank David Gemmell for his contribution to the world, cut short as it was.

it is not a perfect book, but it was perfect for me and for that i cant give it any less than a 5 star

I've read legand 5 times and now heard it through audiobook, making it 6. the only conflict I had was the narrator made ulric and the Nadir Indian? I always imagined them of a Chinese origin.
I recommend it still to fantasy lovers

I've read all of David Gemmell novels. The Drenai series is probably my favourite as it features a number of strong characters. I first read them 30 years ago and thought I would revisit them in audio format. I have a long drive to work and I really enjoyed listening to the story. The narrator is clear and I like the accents/voices he used to represent the main characters. I will be listening to this story again!
