Publisher's Summary

Can you imagine writing to Father Christmas and actually getting a reply?

Every year, the children of J.R.R. Tolkien would write to Father Christmas, and the letters they received told wonderful stories of his adventures at the North Pole.

These humorous tales are brought to life by Derek Jacobi as Father Christmas, John Moffatt as Polar Bear, and Christian Rodska as Ilbereth the Elf, complete with specially composed music.

Too much music...

I really enjoyed this story. It is the first thing I have ever read by J R R Tolkien. But I found the music to be a little too much for between the letters.

A Christmas Tradition

I listened to this Audible book last year at Christmas time and again this year. Excellent narration complete with music. A magical & sweet Christmas tradition. JRR Tolkien's "Letters From Father Christmas" ......written to his children.

Adorable stories

It is rally adorable to hear those stories from Father Christmas's perspective. The narration was nicely done with a little touch of music.
Really brings the Christmas spirits.

Incredibly annoying

I LOVE Christmas. This book made me detest Christmas songs. It is very, very childish - no problems there - but it is also the kind of childish that feels like kids are stupid. I do not like that.

Derek Jacobi tries hard, but it cannot save the experience alone.

There is also a very, very, VERY annoying little melody at the end and beginning of each chapter, so beware: you’ll be thinking about it your WHOLE DAY. It is a curse, really.

Finally, is this really Tolkien? Ok, it is, but some things are better left within the family only.

Skip this one.
